Also, this version doesn’t have any added sugar outside of that provided by the banana slices and dark chocolate. This banana chocolate flaxseed oatmeal recipe is sure to provide you with the fuel for breakfast needed to kickstart your day.
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups water
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- 2 tablespoons flaxseeds
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- Banana slices, for serving
- Semisweet chocolate chips, for serving
Yield: 2 servings
Procedure:
- Bring the water and salt to a boil in a saucepan. Stir in the oats and flaxseeds and cook for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Cover and let sit for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Stir in the butter and cocoa powder. If desired, you can adjust the consistency with milk or more water.
- Transfer to bowls and top with banana slices and chocolate chips.
